Renewing vows in Las Vegas

During the planning of Angela and John's wedding, Angela dreamed of a Las Vegas Elopement. After failing to convince her fiancé to ditch the traditional wedding, John promised Angela that he would take her to Las Vegas on their 10th anniversary to renew their vows... And that's exactly what they did.

Please introduce yourself!

My name is Angela Bonus and I am from Melbourne! I married my husband John in 2007 and we have two beautiful girls Sabra and Sienna. I have been lucky enough to hang up my corporate cape in exchange for jeans, t-shirts and sneakers and am thoroughly enjoying being a full time mum.

Tell us a bit about you and Johns love story!

John and I have known each other since I was 16 years old; meeting through mutual friends. We got together as a couple in our 20's. Sabra, our first, was an unexpected yet beautiful surprise. John proposed pretty much as soon as I told him we were expecting. Wanting to be married and enjoying our wedding day for just the two of us before our world became three, we rushed to organise our day. Through tears, stress and tantrums (all mine... I blame the pregnancy hormones) we organised our wedding within 3 months. We married on the first of December 2007 and celebrated with 110 family and friends. As memorable and as special of a day it was, the lead up to was stressful and hectic that I had tried many times to coax John into eloping to Vegas instead. John (being the level-headed one out of the two of us) said no, that our families would be devastated if we did that. John promised me that on our 10th year wedding anniversary he'd take me to Vegas and marry me again.

What took you to Las Vegas?

I've been holding John to his promise for 10 years! Haha!

Talk us through your Travelshoot!

Rachel, our photographer was amazing. She and I communicated via the easy Travelshoot message portal thoroughly before the actual shoot. I had created a Pinterest board of photos which I liked to give my photographer an idea of what I was after. Travelshoot teamed me up with a photographer whose style and flair aligned effortlessly with the look and mood I was wishing to capture in my pictures. I was a little apprehensive about how the session would go - as I had never met Rachel in person, but as soon as Rachel walked up to us with her beaming smile and friendly vibe, I knew all would go well. My girls are very shy in character, but to my surprise they warmed up very quickly to Rachel and were able to be their playful and fun selves. I can't thank Rachel enough for our entire experience from start to end, for sharing her immense local knowledge, to her kindly carpooling our family around in her personal truck so we didn't have to cab it around Las Vegas, and most importantly for capturing so candidly the love and fun that is exactly my little family. The experience was everything I hoped for and then some! Thank you to Rachel and Travelshoot.
